Virginia educators are applying formative assessment instructional practices in classrooms, enabling differentiated instruction that allows them to determine what students understand and adjust their practice accordingly. Since 2013, the Virginia Department of Education has partnered with the ARCC on the Formative Assessment Pilot, which has helped educators understand and apply this approach.
ARCC offers capacity building technical assistance to state education agencies and boards in Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and across the region. We collaborate with education leaders and policymakers on an array of initiatives, addressing issues as diverse as college and career readiness and educator effectiveness.
