Students learn from a young age that if their voice does not matter in a classroom of 25 peers that it does not matter in a national election made up of over 250 million eligible voters. Schools are the backbone of our democracy, yet they teach civics in a way that does not engage the largest stakeholder—the students themselves. Students across the nation are embracing the opportunity to unpack their education by securing a seat at the table in their schools to help transform educational institutions into places where students and families are the first priority.
In this webinar, led by Ian Coon, Associate Director of Student Voice, participants will learn about the problem, the model, and the solution, and connect with state-level organizations to empower students as leaders of their own. Student Voice is the nation’s largest by-students, for-students 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization inspired by the premise that education should work for all students.
