Social and Emotional Learning Webinar

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is a process through which children and adults learn to recognize and manage emotions, demonstrate care and concern for others, develop positive relationships, make good decisions, and behave ethically, respectfully and responsibly. Metro Nashville Public schools has been blazing the trail in Tennessee over the past 8 years through their implementation of a successful SEL approach. They have received accolades from Collaborative for Academic Social Emotional Learning (CASEL), ASPEN Institute, and the Tennessee Department of Education for their pioneering work in the field.

Metro Nashville Public School's Director of Social and Emotional Learning, Kyla Krengel, is the presenter for this webinar that provides an overview of SEL, explores how Metro Nashville Public Schools in Tennessee is implementing an approach that could inform specific state and local policies, and supports webinar participants in developing their own approach to SEL implementation.
